Passengers aboard a United Airlines flight, Thursday, are having the price of their tickets refunded after a flight attendant went on a drunken tirade. After first swearing at the passengers, she then proceeded to get confrontational. Photos emerged on twitter of the woman accosting a passenger, and getting in his face.

Erika Gorman, a passenger on the flight, explained the profanity. During the safety instructions, the flight attendant said “If your seatbelt isn’t tight, you f***ed up.”

“Thanks United, for a terrifying flight! Drunk or stoned stewardess endangered everybody’s lives,” Gorman tweeted.

“I had to go to the cockpit and call the pilot and tell him they had an out of control attendant. The cops and an ambulance were waiting for her when we landed.”

United Airlines released a statement in which they apologized to customers. The plane was flying from Denver to Williston, ND.

When the plane landed, the stewardess was met by police. She wasn’t arrested, though the case was turned over to the FBI. Trans States Airlines, who was operating the flight on behalf of United, said the flight attendant was “being held out of service.”

“Trans States Airlines is aware of reports of erratic behavior by a flight attendant on flight 4689 from Denver to Willston,” they said in a statement.

“The situation is under investigation and the flight attendant is being held held out of service. The safety of our passengers and crew is our and United’s top priority.”

“We are aware of a concerning incident involving a flight attendant serving on our regional service provider Trans States Airlines flight 4689,” United said.

“As a gesture of goodwill, we have compensated all customers aboard the flight and we apologize for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused.”

“The safety of our customers and crew aboard all united and trans states flights is a top priority.”

United’s response was immediate and seemed genuinely concerned. Others on twitter were not so generous.

Though Gorman’s tweets were taken down, many people have called her a snitch and said she is the one in the wrong. They are offended by Gorman posting the images of the woman on line, and even more offended that she would delete her tweets.
